Slip N Slide
Grandma Twitchell was totally prepared for our stay with her. She stocked up on the one of my kids favorite items - a Slip-N-Slide!! Who invented this? They must be sittin' pretty now because every kids loves sliding down that plastic strip getting splashed in the face with water!! My Mother and I watched
as the kids had a blast on a hot Utah afternoon. Mom also picked up this Water Wiggle thing. Again, fun in the sun!
July 4th, 2008

We packed in as much as possible on Independance Day. None of us had seen the Parade in Provo. Thanks to Brian and Steph, Bry's sister & brother-in-law (and their kids - Gabe, Ruby, Dev, and Maclaine), we had a great experience. We stayed up late on the 3rd hanging out on University Ave. Griffin slept out on the Ave. with his cousins and uncle to save us a prime piece of Parade passing property!! We were up by 5:30 AM and off to watch the Hot Air Balloons followed by the Parade. My kids loved it all. I got a kick out of Griffin's and Isaac's suprise as the LDS Missionaries serving in Provo were
giving a standing ovation as they walked in the Parade. My kids were perplexed by the positive reactions. I quickly explained that many of the Parade watchers were LDS. They were shocked! Noah's Parade favorites were collecting the bizillion advertisements and pamphlets handed out that day as well as seeing many of the Star Wars characters and hugging Darth Vader.
FIREWORKS!!

We capped off the night with a fun party at my Mom's. My sister, Stacie, her daughter, Jaiden and Stacie's friend, John,
and my Mom all hung out with my fam dinner, played games, watched a movie and some of us sang songs while my Mom played the piano. John and Bry lit the fireworks (I think it'sily! We ate a yummy funny how much guys like lighting
fireworks) and we all "OOOHHH"ed and "AAAHHHH" ed the night away.
Thanks Mom for a great end to a fun day!

Here is a cute photo from our first few days in Utah. Thanks to Don & Karen & to my Mom as well for hosting our family while we partied in the Beehive State!

HIKING
Our last couple of days in Utah were filled with rest for me and hiking for Bryan, Griff and Isaac. Noah, Grandpa Holt and I enjoyed watching the three hike up a mountain a street away from Grandpa's home. We were able to yell to them and could hear their return calls. Noah helped me signal the guys with a mirror too. Bry's goal is to eventually get our family to climb Mt. Olympus. Bry and I have climbed in three times. It's a very worthwhile climb that requires 4 hours up the face & 3 hours down the spine. Can't wait for our kids to be old enough to tackle it!
