The Valentine Fairy Strikes Again

My sweet sister in-law, Nan, started a fun tradition long ago..... The Valentine Fairy. I totally stole the idea. It embarasses my kids but they love it! It also gets me out of my comfort zone. I think I'm the only reserved Holt in my family. Embarrassing myself to make others smile is more of my husband's gig.
However, every Valentine's Day, I dress up like an obnoxious fairy. I twirl, leap and dance into my childrens' classrooms, interrupting whatever may be happening at the time. (Teacher approved timing of course.) I have a non-candy Valentine something in my bag for everyone but I'm especially on the hunt for my special "Valentine!" Once I find my special "Valentine," which of course is my child, I plant big red lipstick smoochies all over their face! My boys really love it even if they are a little embarassed! I'm determined to see it through until the end of their high school years as long as I don't break a hip dancing around!

Isaac Turns 9

Isaac's birthday party was totally awesome! The kids had a great time and so did we (Bryan and I)! I can't say that about all of my kids' birthday parties but this one tops the list for simplicity and yet complete fun!

We have tons of Mashoongas around here! They are sold at Toys R Us, Sam's Club and several other places! We hosted a Mashoonga Tournament. Two kids face off at a time. One point for hitting your oponent with your Mashoonga. Hits to the Head and other tender spots are minus one point. First kid to 4 wins the round. It was a blast! The winner's trophy cup was a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup!

Several times the kids just broke out into random battles. So fun! A few times we divided up into teams and a few times it was all of the kids against Bryan.

Can you believe I actually made a "Theme" cake? Never have before but I thought I would give it a try! Isaac loved it! It made my day to see him so happy about his party and cake!

Isaac's 9!! Wow! He is my top energy kid! He works hard and is becoming a young man. He's learning the values of honesty, courage, being positive about life and service! I love having him around.
