I love reading with my boys at night. It's usually part of the bedtime routine. I'll never get tired of snuggling down with Griff, Isaac & Noah and laughing through a fun book. One of my favorite stories to read is "Chrysanthemum." It might seem funny that my boys love such a girly book, but they laugh all the way through the entire thing. Another favorite is "Alexander's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day." I laugh through that one while we all feel for Alexander. Noah seems to have acquired a love for any Dr. Suess book. He particularly loves "P.J. Funnybunny." There was a time that Griff felt like P.J. Funnybunny because we have "too many jobs for our kids that are too hard at our house." So, we used to read it so that Griff Funnybunny went to live with our friends The Birds (Lee & Linda). We giggle together about that memory whenever we read this book. Isaac and I are reading "Harry Potter - Chamber of Secrets" currently. It's fun to see it through his eyes on this read through.Reading is a way for me to connect with my boys. It's fun and it draws us a little closer together. The stories are topics of conversations for us. Sometimes we use bits of stories as learning lessons. I love reading and I'm glad my kids enjoy reading with me.

What a wonderful time in your life. Your family is beautiful.
Such a cute picture Cathy--I love reading to my children too! We love Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day too.
I bet you guys have some great conversations--I adore listening to how you talk to the boys.
You know, some of my very favorite memories are the times we spent reading together with my mom before bedtime. When we got older, we shared, "Where the Red Fern Grows," and "The BFG," and "Boxcar Children," etc. I think books will always have a special significance because of that time.
And, I think "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, very bad day" is one of my very favorites!!
